SHIRE HIGHLANDS EDUCATION DIVISION HAS AWARDED THE BEST PERFORMING STUDENT

Shire Highlands Education Division has awarded Duster Lucius as the best-performing student with deafblind who scooped 15 points despite his disability. Lucius received such historic honour at a function held at Malawi University of Science & Technology (MUST) where education division officials gave certificates of recognition. Speaking on the sidelines of the function, Martha Momba, Programs Coordinator for Visual Hearing Impairment Membership Association of Malawi (VIHEMA) an affiliated member organization  of FEDOMA, said the award is a true reflection that disability is not inability."We are proud of our own Duster who has proven that disability is not a hindering block that prevents someone from accelerating progress in life and this award is not for Duster alone, but it's for the whole disability movement", she said. Duster Lucius who is also the chairperson for VIHEMA Youth Wing, sat for the 2023 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)  and passed the exams with 15 points hance the award.
